Tropea

Tropea is an impressive seaside resort with breath-taking scenery. The Tropea coastline is on the Tyrrhenian Sea and is known as the Costa degli Dei, the 'Coast of the Gods'. The coastline has unparalleled steep cliffs holding up coloured buildings that have to be seen to be believed. Also, the coastline boasts many sunny beaches, which make for amazing holiday in the sun. Tropea is regarded as one of Italy's finest summer holiday destinations, but if you are not bathing on the beach in one of the many pleasant little resorts or relaxing at one of the tranquil campsites then you will be discovering the main attractions in town. The centre of Tropea has some interesting sights to discover including the Franciscan monastery, a 12th century Norman cathedral and the Tropea Castle, which was destroyed in 1876.
