Parma is divided into two parts by the little stream with the same name. Tourism in Parma is at a smaller level than much of Italy's other cities and it is seen as a bit of a well-kept secret, which is surprising considering is central location. Parma is in the centre of northern Italy with frequent trains to Bologna, Milan and other useful destinations and has a well utilised airport. Parma hosts an important art gallery, many museums, frescoed churches, good shopping, charming historic lanes and of course the rich local cuisine.
