Lake Como (Italian: Lago di Como), along with Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore, is one of the big three Italian Lakes. Lake Como with an area of 146 square kilometres. This is a peaceful and wooded Lake. Popular destinations surrounding the lake are Colico, Como, Lecco, Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna. Lake Como has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times, and a very popular tourist attraction with many artistic and cultural gems. It has many villas and palaces, such as Villa Olmo, Villa Serbelloni and Villa Carlotta. Currently, many celebrities have or had homes on the shores of Lake Como, such as Madonna, George Clooney, Gianni Versace, Ronaldinho, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Branson.
This tour gives you a chance to visit the city of Como and take a breath-taking boat trip on Lake Como whilst admiring the beautiful villas. Departing by coach from Foro Bonaparte in Milan, the first stop will give you a chance to take in the beautiful Villa Olmo. After this the tour moves on to Como and a visit of the city centre. Next will be a walking tour and ascent by funicular to Brunate, which is a picturesque village, 500 meters high where you will have free time for further visits, shopping and lunch. After this the tour will take you to Lake Como for a panoramic boat cruise on the lake. You will then take a transfer by coach to the Basilica San Abbondio, which is a beautiful Romanesque church with precious frescos, before the return trip back to Milan.
