Best Places in Rome for a Cup on Tea

AfternoonTea1.jpgIf there’s one thing we miss when travelling abroad, it’s a good cup of English tea! And with the cooler climate of autumn approaching in Rome, we thought we would highlight some of the best places in the city for a cup of English tea.

Arthe

Where: Viale Pasteur, 45

This fairytale-like tea room in central Rome will make you feel like you have stepped into the pages of Alice in Wonderland, but be warned that it is a little difficult to find as it is hidden inside a Roman house and you must ring a bell to enter. Once inside, you will be treated to a magical atmosphere with quaintly decorated tables, comfy chairs and sofas, and a reading corner, as well as a stunningly vibrant inner garden.

Arthe offers over 40 types of tea, including English tea, green tea and a selection of herbal teas, making it the perfect spot to refresh and unwind. They also offer hot chocolate (perfect for an autumn afternoon), as well as homemade cakes.

Saporiti

Where: Viale Gottardo, 62/64

This is a very small place in the heart of Piazza Sempione in Montesacro (near Parco di Monte Sacro). It is a good option if you are staying on the outskirts of Rome for your Italy holiday and offers a choice of teas, coffee and handmade biscuits. It also offers a selection of boardgames to enjoy, making it a good choice on a rainy afternoon in Rome, and there is a special corner for children and is very family friendly.

The British Corner

Where: Via del Pigneto, 112

The aptly named British Corner offers you a piece of home in the heart of the Eternal City. The décor aims to recreate a British climate, with vintage pieces, including a Victorian tea service and antique teapots. It is like being transported to another place and another time, and they offer a range of teas, as well as pastries and other treats.
