Paris to Venice: One of Europe’s Best Night Trains

See the Alps in the moonlight on the night train from Paris to Venice, which was recently named one of Europe’s best night trains by Lonely Planet.

Lonely Planet, the well-respected travel guide, recently released its top picks for Europe’s night trains and second on the list was the popular international train linking Paris and Venice. Departing the so-called City of Love from either Paris Gare de Lyon or Bercy train station, you can travel through the night passed glorious natural wonders, such as the Alps and Italian Lakes, before arriving in the Floating City of Venice in the early morning.

Taking the night train on your Paris and Venice multi-centre holiday not only gives you the chance to admire diverse landscapes, it is also a good way to make the most of your time in Europe as you lose no daylight hours by travelling through the night. And nothing compares to falling asleep in the chic city of Paris, with its artisan cafes and iconic architecture, and then waking up to the charming Venetian ambience, with characterful gondolas and the charming landmarks that line the banks of the famous Grand Canal.
