The legendary tombs of Mawangdui

Art and life in China in the second century AD

This exhibition, which will be on display at the National Museum of Palazzo Venezia in Rome until February 2015, tells the story of the Han Dynasty (206 BC–220 AD) through treasures discovered in the tombs at Mawangdui, which have previously been on display at the acclaimed Hunan Provincial Museum in China.

In total, 76 precious pieces will be on display in Rome, including lacquers, textiles, manuscripts and silk paintings, which bring to life an ancient civilization through archaeological discovery.
