Verona Opera Festival 2014

Every year, Verona plays host to a very special and popular event: the Opera Festival. Starting on 20th June and running until 7th September, this year’s festival celebrates the beginning of a new century of outstanding music at the Arena di Verona, which is the world’s largest outdoor stage, and has been aptly named “the Festival of the New Century”.

During the 11-week festival there will be 54 evening operas, showing 6 opera titles, including Madame Butterfly by Puccini, Carmen by Bizet and Roméo and Juliet by Gounod. It is sure, as always, that some of the world’s finest operatic performers and conductors will showcase at the event, including Andrea Battistoni, Henrik Nánási and Julian Kovatchev.
