Visiting Rieti from Rome

There is no doubt that there is so much to see in Rome that you can spend an entire holiday discovering new things around the city. However, if you are eager to also explore the area surrounding the Eternal City then we would like to recommend the untouched beauty of Rieti in Lazio.

In the Rieti region you will find the Monte Terminillo skiing resort, which is just 70 miles from Rome. It is open between mid-December and early April and has a range of slopes to suit all levels and eight ski lifts. If you’re visiting in the summer then you’ll be sure to enjoy the natural beauty of Monte Terminillo and you may also like to visit the Sacred Valley amidst the hills and mountains, where Saint Francis preached throughout his life. The Marmore’s Falls, which is a man-made waterfall, and many lakes and rivers with stunning landscapes are not to be missed and make excellent photo opportunities. In Rieti itself, you can visit the old Roman remains and marvel at the city’s walls, or take in the Cathedral with its Romanesque bell tower. You can also relax in nature at Lake Lungo or the Ripasottile Nature Reserve.

There are many quaint villages and smaller cities that are within easy reach of Rome and we are happy to suggest and arrange day trips for our customers – just let us know what you would like to see and we’ll do the rest!
