Tour Itinerary

Departing Sorrento, you will travel by luxury coach through the beautiful towns of the Sorrentine peninsula to reach the historic city of Pompeii after about 30 minutes. The lost city of Pompeii is known across the globe as one of the world's most treasured and fascinating historical sites due to the level of preservation of ancient life. In 79 AD, an eruption of Mount Vesuvius covered and destroyed Pompeii, killing over 2000 inhabitants and preserving the city under a blanket of ash. The city was subsequently lost for 1,500 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1599. Today, the site is considered to be one of the few sites where an ancient city has been preserved in detail - everything from jars and tables to paintings and people were frozen in time, yielding an unprecedented opportunity to see how the people lived 2000 years ago. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the excavations of this famous city and also enjoy lunch before the tour continues with a visit to Mount Vesuvius.

Mount Vesuvius is a well-known stratovolcano on the Bay of Naples, about 9 kilometres east of Naples. It is now considered "Green Level", meaning it is not expected to erupt, meaning that you can safely visit the volcano and be rewarded with stunning scenery and epic sea views. On arrival at Mount Vesuvius, you will take a bus up the volcano to a level of 1000 metres, when our guide will then take you another 200 metres up by foot to the crater. Here you can admire panoramic and glorious views, and also learn more about the volcanoes history and geographical features.

After spending some time taking in this amazing landmark, you will be returned to Sorrento by luxury coach.
