Modena restaurants

Modena is perhaps most famous for its production of balsamic vinegar; however, there is much more to the cuisine of this region. In fact, Modena has a rich and diversified cuisine, often including meats, hams and salami. Some of the most famous Modenese dishes are "zampone" or "cotechino modena", which are preserved sausage meats, as well as tortellini and tortelloni.

As a popular holiday destination Modena has many restaurants that you can chose for your dining experience on your holiday in Modena. But you should be cautious to avoid the tourist traps that compromise quality and be sure you go to a restaurant that is going to give you the real Italian cuisine experience. Modena has many popular restaurants, so reservations are a must. The specialities of the resort include Cappello da prete (pig's trotter), Ciccioli (slow-cooked pork), Pesto modenese, which is cured pork pounded with garlic, rosemary and Parmigiano-Reggiano used to fill local breads, and Torta Barozzi (also known as Torta Nera), which is a black tart made with a coffee/cocoa and almond filling encased in a fine pastry dough.

At Bellarome our Italian specialists have sampled all the restaurants in Italy that we recommend, so we know that our suggestions are great quality and great value for money.
