The area of the Castelli Romani occupies an ancient, fertile volcanic area, which has allowed a flourishing agriculture, making it a wonderful place to discover local wines.

Starting from the Roman times, the Castelli Romani was an area frequented by the noblemen of Rome, and the tradition has been followed by the Popes, who today still have their summer residence in Castel Gandolfo on the Lake Albano. The villages of the Castelli Romani are charmingly beautiful and include Albano Laziale, Ariccia, Castel Gandolfo, Ciampino, Colonna, Frascati, Genzano di Roma, Grottaferrata, Lanuvio, Lariano, Marino, Monte Compatri, Monte Porzio Catone, Nemi, Rocca di Papa, Rocca Priora and Velletri.

The area is renowned for its blossoming wines, including the white wine of Frascati and, with this tour, you will get to see the breath-taking Roman countryside in the area of the Castelli Romani and sample diverse local wines.

The day starts with a panoramic tour of the villages with a local guide before building up to what will be the highlight of your day: a visit to a vineyard, where you will take part in some wine tasting with the best of the area's local produce. There will also be local olive oil to taste, as well as small snacks.
