A guided walk of Viterbo's main attractions

Viterbo is a dazzling ancient city situated between two magnificent lakes, Bolsena and Vico. The geography of the lakes feeds the thermal springs just outside the town and there are several thermal spas dotted about the city. The city itself is enclosed within medieval walls made of lava stone, and within the historic centre there are many well-preserved medieval buildings that will particularly appeal to those seeking a smaller-scale city with grand appeal.

Tour itinerary

Our Viterbo walking tour takes you on a journey through the city's history and includes stops at

  • Historic center of San Pelligrino (one of the best preserved medieval towns in Italy)
  • Piazza della Morte
  • Piazza del Plebiscito
  • Papal Palace
  • Cathedral of San Lorenzo
