Visit Verona and see iconically romantic sights, such as Casa di Giulietta and the Arena, on a day trip from Lake Garda

Verona straddles the Adige river in Veneto and is not far from the Italian Lake District, making a day trip to Verona from Lake Garda a particularly pleasant experience that you can enjoy with ease. The city of Verona is famous for many things, including its artistic heritage and architecture, and as being the setting for several of Shakespeare's plays, including Romeo & Juliet. Thanks to its many cultural attractions, it is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy and is understandably a UNESCO World Heritage Site that you can discover on this half-day tour to Verona from Lake Garda.

Our half-day tour can be added to any of our Lake Garda holidays - please speak to your personal travel adviser if you would like to add this tour to your package booked with us.

Tour itinerary

Our half-day tour of Verona gives you ample time to take in the beautiful architecture of this cultural city and soak up the artistic atmosphere. Typically, our half-day tours depart from Lake Garda in the morning and start with a sightseeing bus tour, followed by a walking tour so that you can get an intimate view of Verona's most beautiful attractions. On a typical tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy:

  • Piazza Bra, the main square with the Arena (the Roman Amphitheatre)
  • Piazza delle Erbe, which is a quaint market square with fruit and souvenirs
  • Piazza dei Signori, which was once the city's political centre
  • Mercato Vecchio, with its typical Roman houses
  • Scaliger grave tombs, which are impressive monuments in Gothic architecture that were built to house the remains of the three most important members of the Della Scala family
  • Juliet’s balcony and Casa di Giulietta (exterior visit)

You will also have free time to shop or take in more of the city and then, after you have enjoyed all the city sights, you will be returned to Lake Garda in the afternoon.
