Turin

Turin (Italian: Torino) is a major business and cultural centre in northern Italy. The city is located mainly on the left bank of the Po River surrounded by the Alpine arch. Turin is a flourishing, cosmopolitan and industrious European city, which combines state-of-the-art technology with a rich culture and history. It is known for its numerous art galleries, churches, piazzas, palaces, gardens, theatres, opera houses, restaurants, parks, gardens, theatres, museums and other venues. Turin is also renowned for its baroque, rococo, neo-classical, and Art Nouveau architecture. The city currently hosts some of Italy's best universities, such as the Polytechnic University of Turin. Prestigious and important museums, such as the Mole Antonelliana and Museo Egizio are also found in the city. The other main attractions in Turin include Piazza Castello (Palazzo Reale and the Palazzo Madama), the Duomo, Egyptian Museum, Superga (Basilica on a hill) and the Monte dei Cappucini. Turin is also home of the world famous football clubs Juventus F.C and Torino F.C, and also known as the headquarters for car manufacturers Fiat and Alfa Romeo.
