Stintino

Stintino is a coastal town, located about 200 km north of Cagliari, in the north west of Sardinia. This popular sea resort is located on the Stintino peninsula, which runs from the Nurra plain to the Asinara Island and is part of the Asinara National Park. Stintino is a popular place for boating tourists with three tourist ports: Porto Mannu (with 300 boat places), Marina di Stintino (160 boat places) and Porto Minori (110 boat places). Many events and entertainment are organised for residents and tourists during the summer season. Among the important annual festivals is a boat race in late August called "Regata della vela latina". Another attraction is the museum 'Tonnara' located at the new port. The best known beach is La Pelosa, which has a beautiful transparent-turquoise sea and the finest white sand, but there are other beaches equally as beautiful, like Saline, Puzzona and Ezzi Mannu. Stintino offers an abundance of sporting entertainment (sailing, windsurfing, golfing, tennis, hiking, horse riding, etc) and cultural entertainment (music concerts, exhibitions, museums, etc).
