There will then be free time for lunch before the day continues with a 90-minute tour of central Florence. As a part of this outdoor afternoon tour, your guide will tell you about Florence's Roman origins and you will see 15th century palaces, Ponte Vecchio, the famous Uffizi Gallery courtyard and Brunelleschi's Dome, and as a special finale to this Florence walking tour you can enjoy an aperitivo of drinks and snacks.

Day 2: San Gimignano, Siena & the Chianti wine region

Today you will have the opportunity to explore wider Tuscany with a wonderful full-day tour. First, we will take you to the medieval town of San Gimignano, which is famous for its historic towers and charming culture. Here, you will have free time to explore the little-known sights, which include Tuscan squares, palaces, churches and, of course, the magnificent towers. Then, the tour continues deep into the Chianti region, allowing you to take in some of the delightful scenery that Tuscany is famous for, characterised by rolling fields and vibrant vineyards. The tour stops on an authentic wine estate, where you can visit the cellars and sample local vintages, along with a decadent lunch of pasta and local meats. Finally, the tour continues to Siena, home of the famous Palio horse race. An expert guide will show you all the main attractions, including the Cathedral, Piazza del Campo and the Monteriggioni Fortress.

Overnight in Florence.

Day 3: Cinque Terre & Portovenere

Today, we leave Tuscany to see the charming fishing villages that define the Cinque Terre national park (a UNESCO-protected site) in Liguria. This famous stretch of coastline is defined by its rocky cliffs that roll dramatically into the glistening waters of the Ligurian sea, giving you the opportunity to enjoy one of Italy's prettiest coasts. The tour begins in Portovenere, which is an elegant resort where you will have free time to browse the boutique stores or buy gifts. The tour then continues with a boat ride (weather permitting)* along the Cinque Terre, on which you can discover the fishing villages, with stops in Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare. There will be free time for lunch and swimming in the sea before the tour returns to Florence.

Overnight in Florence.

*If the weather does not allow for the boat ride, you will be able to enjoy a train ride along the coast instead, with stops in the same villages as mentioned.
