A relaxing walk through the most characteristic and important places that have contributed to the history of Venice

While Venice is known as the Floating City thanks to its intricate network of canals, it has many famous landmarks that are best reached on foot.

On this walking tour, our expert guide will take you on a relaxing walk through the most characteristic and important places that have contributed to the history of Venice. This is a wonderful way to understand the true history of Venice and understanding more of the city's culture. The route will start at Piazza San Marco, where you will have the chance to view the exterior of the San Marco Basilica, Palazzo Ducale, the Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and Procuratie. Our guide will then lead you on to Santa Maria Formosa and divulge the history of this space through anecdotes related to this wonderful and characteristic square. Onwards from here you will see Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo to see the "Pantheon" of Venice, the Great School of Charity and the Captains of Fortune. Next, you will walk on further to Marco Polo's House and the Malibran Theatre for a full walking experience of Venice's main sights.

At the end of the tour, our guide will lead you back to Piazza San Marco through the Mercerie, which is a vital route between Rialto and San Marco and the main street for shopping in the city.

***Also Available: Our VIP Venice walking tour, which is an extended, private tour experience featuring San Marco (3 hours and for £99 per person)***
