Verona Ristorante Osteria da Ugo

The love for tradition, the respect for what seasons have to offer, the workmanship, and the continuous quest of quality are the trademarks of the cuisine of the Verona Ristorante Osteria da Ugo. The Osteria da Ugo serves dishes carefully prepared following the traditional recipes of the Veneto region. The menu varies periodically according to the availability of seasonal products and to the chefs’ creativity. All raw materials are fresh, we do not use any frozen or deep-frozen products. All courses, as well as pasta, cakes and ice creams are prepared in our kitchen, with the care and expertise of committed staff. Ezio and Michela, the owners of the Osteria da Ugo who took over the company last September 2007, making a secret dream come true, look forward to greeting you.

The Osteria da Ugo is located in the heart of Verona about 200m away from Juliet’s House, though in a quiet position and not on the usual touristic path. The restaurant, fully air-conditioned, has three rooms for approximately the same capacity:  two joined rooms at street level and the evocative tavern “Romeo and Juliet” downstairs. The interior decoration is very warm and cosy and is therefore perfectly suited both for groups of different sizes and couples looking for more intimacy. The menu of the restaurant is typical from the Veneto region, supported by a wide selection of wines mainly produced in the local area. Chef Luca Magagnotti leads with passion the kitchen staff, consisting of a sous chef, also experienced in pastry making, two chef de rang, one commis and one kitchen assistant. In the restaurant, as well as competent waiters, you will also find a wine steward, who will advise you in matching the best wine with your dish of choice.

The Osteria da Ugo uses in season and fresh products only. Among our specialities you will find the unique Selections of local Cheeses and Cold Cuts and, as entrées, the Ravioli filled with Stewed Donkey Meat, the Fresh Ugo’s Tortelloni Pasta with Egg Plant and Goat Cheese, the Pumpkin Dumplings with Melted Butter, Truffle and Monte Veronese Cheese, the Bigoli with Duck Meat Sauce; as main courses:  the Beef Fillet with Recioto Wine Sauce topped with Truffle Flakes, the Stew Donkey, the Marrowbone Parmigiana-style , the Liver and Kidney with Porcini Mushrooms and Liver and onions Venetian Style.
